Entering competitions

  • How do I enter a competition?
Open the listing you want to enter, choose how many tickets you want, answer the skill-based eligibility question, accept the Terms and Conditions, and complete payment. Once payment is confirmed your entry is allocated immediately.
  • Why do I have to answer a skill question?
Raffio is a skill-based prize competition platform. Answering the eligibility question correctly is a required part of the entry process. Incorrect answers prevent entry and the same requirement applies to both online and postal entries.
  • I answered the skill question incorrectly. Can I try again?
No. Your answer to a competition’s skill question is binding — if you answer incorrectly, that entry attempt ends and you cannot re-answer to enter the same competition. Please read each question carefully before you submit it. The same skill-question requirement applies to postal entries.

Free postal entry

  • Is there a free postal entry route?
Yes. Every Raffio competition offers a free entry route by post, subject to the same skill-based eligibility requirements as paid entries. See the Postal entry page for the address and instructions.
  • What must a postal entry include?
Write clearly on a postcard or letter: your full name, date of birth (you must be 18 or over), full postal address including postcode, email address, a contact telephone number, the competition title or listing ID, and your answer to that competition’s qualifying question shown on the listing page. One postal entry per person per competition, and each entry must be posted in its own separately stamped envelope or as its own postcard.
  • When must my postal entry arrive?
Your entry must be received — not merely posted — by the competition’s postal entry deadline, which is 48 hours before the closing time shown on the listing page. This window gives us time to validate and process postal entries before the draw. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt, so please allow enough time for delivery.
  • Do postal entries have the same chance in the draw?
Yes. Valid postal entries are recorded by our team and entered into the same draw pool as paid ticket entries, with an equal chance in the draw. Entries that are late, incomplete, illegible, duplicated or otherwise invalid may be rejected under the competition rules.

Payments

  • What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major debit and credit cards. Available payment methods are shown securely at checkout. Payments are processed by our PCI-compliant payment provider; Raffio does not store full card details.
  • What will appear on my card statement?
Your card statement will show RAFFIO.CO.UK. If you see a charge you do not recognise, please contact us at support@raffio.co.uk before raising a chargeback.
  • What currency are entries priced in?
All entries are priced and charged in GBP (£).
  • My payment failed. What should I do?
If your payment did not complete, your entry is not allocated and you will not have been charged. You can try again from the same listing or contact support@raffio.co.uk if the issue persists.
  • Am I paying the host directly?
No. All customer payments are processed by Raffio — you pay Raffio directly, not the individual host. Raffio manages the full payment lifecycle, including processing, reconciliation and dispute handling.

Competition results

  • How are winners selected?
After the competition closes, the winner is drawn using randomness from RANDOM.ORG, an independent third-party service. Raffio commits to a single-use RANDOM.ORG ticket before the draw and publishes the signed result afterwards, so the outcome can be verified by anyone — nobody at Raffio can re-roll or change it. Every valid ticket has an equal chance in the draw. Every competition has its own verification page, and you can browse past draws on our Results page. See the Fairness & Draw Verification page for the full method.
  • When does the draw happen?
The draw runs automatically after the competition’s closing date and time, over all valid entries received before closure. Draws never take place before a competition closes.
  • How can I check a draw was fair?
Each competition has a permanent verification page publishing the committed RANDOM.ORG ticket (before the draw) and the full signed result (after the draw). You can confirm the signed random number with RANDOM.ORG’s own signature-verification form, check that the entry pool was fixed before the number existed, and re-run the published selection formula yourself. A machine-readable copy of the proof can be downloaded from each verification page.
  • Where can I see past results?
The Results page lists past draws, and each one links to its own verification page with the evidence for that specific draw.

Winning & prize fulfilment

  • How will I know if I have won?
Raffio confirms your win and manages your prize claim from start to finish. If we need any details from you — such as a delivery address — you submit them securely on your claim page, never by replying to an ordinary email. Your claim page shows any action and deadline that applies to your prize.
  • How quickly are prizes dispatched?
Raffio confirms the win, verifies the winner and manages the prize claim. Once the claim is approved, the approved host dispatches the prize or carries out the agreed collection or handover, and Raffio tracks progress. Any deadline that applies to a prize is shown on the winner’s claim page. Before dispatch, Raffio may require identity, age, and address verification.
  • Why might you verify my details before sending a prize?
Before a prize is dispatched, Raffio may require identity, age and address verification. This protects winners and keeps prizes going to the right person — you must be 18 or over to use Raffio.
  • Do prizes come with tracking?
Where appropriate, prizes are sent by tracked or insured courier. High-value prizes may require signature on delivery, ID verification on receipt, and recorded handover documentation.
  • My prize has arrived damaged or hasn’t arrived. What do I do?
Notify us promptly at support@raffio.co.uk. We may request evidence and will investigate with the shipping provider. Remedies can include replacement, repair, insurance claim processing, or alternative compensation where appropriate.
  • Do you ship internationally?
Some prizes are only available within the United Kingdom or specific jurisdictions permitted by Raffio. International shipping is not available for all items — check the listing details.

Refunds & disputes

  • How do I request a refund?
Go to Dashboard → Payments, find the payment, and click "View payment details". Open "Need help with this payment?", choose what went wrong, and — if the payment is eligible per our Refund Policy — you can submit a refund request from there. Submit it and our team will review within 1–2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 3–10 business days to the original payment method. If you cannot use the self-service flow, email support@raffio.co.uk with your entry or payment reference.
  • Why might a refund not be issued?
Refunds are generally not issued for change of mind, incorrect skill-question answers, failure to win, unused entries, intentionally duplicate purchases, or where the competition has already concluded or the winner has been selected. Full detail is in the Refund Policy.
  • I was charged twice by accident — can I get a refund?
Yes. Accidental duplicate transactions for the same intended purchase are refundable. Go to Dashboard → Payments, open the duplicate payment, and click "Request refund" — if we detect a likely duplicate automatically, we will pre-select the reason for you.
  • Should I raise a chargeback with my bank?
Please contact Raffio directly first at support@raffio.co.uk. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account suspension, platform bans, and reporting to payment processors and fraud-prevention databases.
  • Can I cancel an entry I have already paid for?
Because each paid entry is allocated a ticket the moment payment is confirmed and the skill question is completed, paid entries are generally not cancellable. Where consumer law gives you a statutory right of withdrawal, that right is preserved.

Account & age checks

  • How do I create an account?
Click Sign up in the top right and complete the registration form. Email verification is required before you can place a paid entry.
  • Is there an age limit?
Yes — you must be 18 or over to use Raffio. We may require age verification before a prize is dispatched.
  • I have forgotten my password.
Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset it. If you still cannot get in, contact support@raffio.co.uk.
  • How do I close my account?
Email support@raffio.co.uk from the address on your account. We will close the account and delete personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
  • How do I contact support?
Email support@raffio.co.uk, or open a support request from Dashboard → Support when signed in. See the Contact us page for our registered company details.

Hosting competitions

  • How do I become a host on Raffio?
Raffio is currently launching with a limited selection of platform-managed competitions, so there is no open, self-service host sign-up yet. Future hosts are reviewed and onboarded individually by invitation. You are welcome to register your interest via our Contact page — being in touch does not guarantee acceptance, and any host is subject to identity and host-details verification before onboarding.
  • Do I need a registered company to host?
No. A host can be an individual or sole trader, or a registered business or organisation. Individuals and sole traders are never asked for company or director details — verification follows the legal form you apply under.
  • What happens after I submit a competition for review?
A new listing starts as a private draft that only you can see. When you submit it, Raffio reviews it before it can go public — you can withdraw the submission at any point before a decision. If it is rejected you will see the reason, and you can edit and resubmit. Approval by Raffio is what makes a listing public; submitting alone never publishes it.
  • When do hosts receive payouts?
Buyers pay Raffio directly — never the host. Hosts receive payouts from Raffio after competition completion and fulfilment checks. Verification of your identity and host details, appropriate to whether you host as an individual or an organisation, is required before payout.
  • Do hosts contact winners directly?
No. Raffio manages all winner communication and the prize claim. Once a claim is approved, the host receives a fulfilment task with only the information needed to dispatch the prize or carry out the agreed collection or handover, and records the evidence.

Media & listing review

  • What are the rules for listing photos and videos?
A listing can have up to 8 photos with exactly one main photo, plus at most one short video (MP4, up to 30 seconds, up to 25 MB — no GIFs). Photos must be clear, recent images of the actual prize, showing its condition, details, accessories and any defects. No contact details, QR codes, links or social handles in images, no misleading promotional overlays, and no unrelated people or personal information. Only upload media you own or are authorised to use.
  • Why am I asked to acknowledge the media guidelines?
Before submitting your first listing for review, hosts confirm they have read the media guidelines. Raffio records only which version you acknowledged and when. If the guidelines are revised, you will be asked to acknowledge the new version.
  • Why can’t I edit my listing’s photos?
Media can be edited only while a listing is a private draft or has been rejected. Once a listing is submitted for review or is live, its photos and video are locked — withdraw the submission to make changes, then resubmit.
  • What does a listing need before it can be submitted for review?
To submit, a listing needs a title, a short and a full prize description, at least one photo with a main photo chosen, a ticket price, a total number of tickets, a closing time in the future, and a category — and the host must have acknowledged the media guidelines. The qualifying question is not something a host provides: Raffio assigns and approves it during review, before the competition can go live. Reviewers see every photo, the video and its details as part of the review.
